Biography

Dr. Idowu serves as the Director of the Biomolecular Research and Advanced Computing Center (BioRacc).

He is a research assistant professor, virologist, and computational biologist with expertise in computational drug discovery and grant writing. His research integrates artificial intelligence and machine learning to address challenges in biomedical science and healthcare innovation, spanning viral infections, cancer therapy, drug discovery, and maternal health.

Dr. Idowu uses molecular dynamics simulations and structural bioinformatics to explore interactions between viral proteins—such as SARS-CoV-2 proteins—and human pro-viral factors, illuminating mechanisms and therapeutic targets. In oncology, he applies machine learning to biomarker discovery and drug-combination optimization for precision medicine.

His toolkit includes AI-driven virtual screening, molecular docking, dynamic simulations, and deep learning to accelerate discovery and clarify molecular mechanisms.
