    Research experience & workshops

    Build computational and lab skills through workshops, volunteer research, or undergraduate projects with BioRacc mentors.

      Email the lab with your major, year, résumé or CV, and a short note on what you want to learn.

      We reply with open opportunities, workshop waitlists, or next steps for a lab visit.

    What helps your inquiry

    • Enrolled at Texas Southern University (preferred)
    • Interest in biology, pharmacy, chemistry, computer science, or related fields
    • No prior HPC experience required for introductory workshops
  • Graduate students & trainees

    Thesis, rotations & advanced projects

    Join computational drug discovery, molecular modeling, or infectious-disease projects that can support thesis or dissertation work.

    How to start

      Review Research Focus areas and recent Publications.

      Email with your program, advisor (if any), skills (coding, wet lab, or both), and project interests.

    3. 03

      Schedule a conversation with the Director or a faculty collaborator about fit and mentoring.

    • Foundational coursework in life sciences, computation, or pharmacy
    • Willingness to learn Linux, scripting, or docking workflows as needed

    Partner on screening, modeling, HPC workflows, or joint publications—or request collaborative access to BioRacc core resources.

      Outline the scientific question, timeline, and what you need (compute, docking support, wet-lab partnership).

      Email the primary contact below; copy a second contact if your request spans computation and experimental work.

    3. 03

      We respond with feasibility, next meeting, and any access or collaboration agreements needed.

How a collaboration usually starts

We aim to reply within 3–5 business days.

    Send a short email with your question, timeline, and whether you need compute, training, or experimental partnership.

    We schedule a brief call or lab visit to align on scope, resources, and expectations.

  3. Step 3

    Qualified projects move forward with shared access, co-mentoring, or a joint work plan.
